Flagstaff-based Turkish Egyptian dancer, choreographer, and percussionist Karen Custer Thurston has taught hundreds of students over the past thirty years of her career. She teaches both privately and at university. Her dance group, Al Rakasaat, performs Middle Eastern inspired rhythms in dance and drumming throughout Northern Arizona.
